 Donate to Funds for the Wittry family

 In Calfornia: Dear Friends,
 
Many of you have generously asked about how to help Dave’s family:  Jody, his wife, and their two children, Kaylin, age 7 and Darren, age 5.  Dave adored Jody and the kids and worked hard to make the best life for them.  Jody has been a stay-at-home mom and it will take time for her to re-establish their financial situation. 
 
A close friend of the family has spoken with Jody about how we can help, and Jody is overwhelmed by our concern for her and the children. 
 
She has authorized her friend, Ms. Jo Chiang in Irvine, CA to handle money for her.  Checks can be made out to “Jody Wittry” and mailed to:

In Taiwan:

Please find details of the two funds that have been setup here in Taipie for Dave’s family below.  Any checks being sent to Wittry Children?s Education Fund at TAS must be made out to ‘Taipei American School ‘ and in the memo section the fund name must be notated.  We will also need the address of the donor in order to send a receipt. 

 

The TAS school fund is called the Wittry Children?s Education Fund.  This is the fund that is restricted for educational purposes for Darren Wittry and Kaylin Wittry.  For your information the TAS school account code for this fund is 02 92-00 201.16.  The school mailing address is;

There is also an account set up at Standard Chartered Bank for the Wittry Family Fund.  This is a non-restricted fund to be available for use at Jody?s discretion. The last I heard is that it would be open for donations for 90 days.  This is a convenient option for Taiwan residents who do not work at Taipei American School since it can be done from any Taiwan ATM machine.  The Bank number for Standard Chartered Bank is number 083 and the account number is 018-134-577-32.  I do not know how easy this will be to contribute to from the states.

Funeral Service

On Friday, February 15, there will be a wake (visitation) held at Saint Anne’s Church on Chung Shan North Road, Section 7, Taipei (near the bus circle in Tien Mu); the address is at the bottom of this note–both in English and in Chinese.  The wake will take place from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the church hall, right next to the church.

On Saturday, February 16, at 11:00 A.M., there will be a funeral service at St. Anne’s Church. Please note that there are not many places to park near the church.  If you are driving, you might want to park at the underground facility at the corner of Chung Shan North and Tien Mu East/West Roads and then take a bus or taxi up to the church.

On Wednesday, February 20, there will be a memorial service for Dave in the Taipei American School Auditorium at 3:45 P.M for those in the TAS community.

A special bank account has been setup to assist Jody, Kaylin and Darren Wittry. Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund can make donations at any ATM machine. The account details are as follows:

Account Number 018-134-577-32Option 2 (TAS education fund):Taipei American School (TAS) has set up a special account that will house and disperse any contributions that are made.  The account is earmarked for educational expenses for Dave and Jody’s two children Kaylin and Darren.  Anyone wishing to contribute can simply go to the TAS cashier (Irene) and make a deposit into the Wittry Children’s Education Fund account.
